Ubuntu as a developer's desktop? Marketing desktop with Linux browser?

Ubuntu stuck its own development as a desktop. So, browser can not be updated easily.

Its not big data oriented operating system. its not even compatible to legacy desktop graphics.

To work on the cloud, its browser is only good for a period of time, you have to change versions to keep up with website script code versions.

Re: Ubuntu as a developer's desktop? Marketing desktop with Linux browser?

Computer vs. Smartphone?

Desktop(offline) vs. internet big data usage(webpage operating system)?

You can search the whole world for anything you need. Offline offers only what you stored on your computer, very limited knowledge.

Ubuntu is just fooling themselves with new desktop graphics that people can play with. Then the daily life has to be satisfied by an iPad?

People will be buying phones comparing the speed of download(big data webpage)? No longer buying computers with many desktop applications that you hardly use each day.

Re: Ubuntu as a developer's desktop? Marketing desktop with Linux browser?

To speed up DigitalTV download, we had to compress TV data with mpeg4(mjpeg+mp3 audio).

This compression reduced data per frame, and now TV channels are increasing.

This technology is also changing the market place of computers to big data. Big data webpages are now mpeg4+php(webGl)+mp3 compression. Big data stores financial data file with the same file name.

As big data becomes clearer to developers, financial transactions will be done by phones(obsolete credit cards).

Free Billpay at banks are the bigdata technology which can be used by cellphones(killing PC business).

It may take a few more years for cellphones to pay bills at the checkout counter in stores.

Then desktop application will all be artificial intelligence in communication devices(just yes to pay).

Re: Ubuntu as a developer's desktop? Marketing desktop with Linux browser?

Graphics developers have work doing webpages of bigdata done by the place that keeps your money. No one is interested in graphics for desktrop to keep your own financial data.

This is the fate of Linux operating system distros.

Eventually Linus will give up on desktop graphics using his operating system based on scsi hard drive software.

New browser operating system is based on wifi connectivity(passphrase encryption) no longer hard disk drive storage(solid state memory is sufficient).

Re: Ubuntu as a developer's desktop? Marketing desktop with Linux browser?

Ubuntu is hoping that Linux can be taking over enterprise applications and need operating system for developers.

Dell is selling with Ubuntu operating system in over 1000 stores in China.

This business decision is overlooking the browser operating system with webGL development environment for bigdata webpages.

So, ubuntu desktop graphics has to be learned to do webGL webpages for bigdata world?

Intel not supporting Ubuntu xmir graphics?

Desktop is dying because Linux is no longer competing desktop graphics with Windows and OsX?

Bigdata is html5 and webGl. All technology is simplified to save time to be informed(information technology).

Re: Ubuntu as a developer's desktop? Marketing desktop with Linux browser?

For many years Tuxmachines.org was the place to post about Linux and its desktop graphics off kde and gnome. Now hardly any member users and only 59 visitors still catching up. Ubuntu had screwed up the graphics by wayland unity, xmir, etc. Linux can not be just desktop graphics.

Browsers had taken over the bigdata websites. Speed dial can glance over bigdata summary webpages in a second. Desktops of different graphics, nobody wants to spend the time to learn.

So, the scsi based Linux kernels lost its eyecandy competition with windows and OsX. And Ubuntu, Tuxmachines.org lost many customers.

This thread about Ubuntu had hardly any visitors, no interest of desktop productivity.

Intel is banking on Ubuntu in China going to make pC survive. It has linux software and hardware support for Ubuntu.

But PC is not phone and webp[ages are html5 not Ubuntu.

More hardware power means more expensive. Market of PC is dying.

Re: Ubuntu as a developer's desktop? Marketing desktop with Linux browser?

Eventually, Ubuntu Os is going to have internet apps?

Which will make it big data cloud computing. Many automation from data on the internet.

They will start to understand software beyond word processing. Or graphics interface from big data.

100k apps is not easy to handle in firmware(webpage script operating system).
