Many aspired to make Austrumi liveUSB drive same as hdaxinstall.
Livecd is Dolivecd. LiveUSB is DoUSB. Just to get all the software run in the dram, then support it with cdrom/cdrw or uSB drive.
To make it persistent, livecd needs to write to cdr or cdrw with track at once or multisession capability. To make it persistent on USB drive, ext4 can do delayed write from dram to USB drive ext4 file system. It can also save the session by ext4 file system on shutdown command.
Austrumi if using the latest kernels will automatically doUSB and have ext4 to be persistent.
Just have to watch out for writebacks and have local defragmentation if writebacks exceeded number 6 to defrag immediately by a write thru. This is done by Drupal in the old days. Now you have to make sure your ext4 has the local defrag module.
I can't get persistent to work on Austrumi ver. 2.2.0 it's installed on usb flash sda1 fat32 2gig partition and a 1gig ext4 partition sda2
do I have to add something to syslinux.cfg???
Persistance USB install, just means that you save the config files before you shut down. You have to save first, then after you reboot, the config is upto date.
Persistance USB Flash/hard-drive with fat32 is ok so far, just for change the setting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cj7_qq9hpG0
