Wine for Austrumi

I love Austrumi but need to run some Window program, hence love to have Wine in Austrumi or at least step by step instruction how it could be install for novice in Linux. Once Austrumi have Wine to run some of the Window program, I guess a lot people can do away with XP or Vista.

Re: Wine for Austrumi

Wine is ok, but cloud computing is better for Austrumi. austrumi has ethernet hard wired or wireless for cableTv set-top box upto 160 mbps internet connection.

Key area of cloud computing is Bank of America, portals, free email for personal use. Then for business, there are many intranet for cloud computing. Office software are on ajaxwindows.com? And many others?

If you want to install wine then windows third party software, you can use livecd and remastering software in austrumi. If you have installed Austrumi on hdd, you might get the download from wine repository with all the dependency files?

Re: Wine for Austrumi

Here is a link to a Slackware version of Wine.

http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slackbu … /pkg/12.2/

If you decide to download the .tgz file it will be default be in root/Desktop. If you open Emelfm navigate to Desktop and when / (root) is showing in the other panel right click on the file and select "Unpack in other Panel". It will then install - whether it will work properly in Austrumi is another question. Good luck.

Re: Wine for Austrumi

In austrumi, slackware commands may work, but alas slackware modules may not work because austrumi is using blin install script. Blin has russian file names? Dependency issues prevail by missing bindings which is merely file name calls not available.

If you change to equivalent russian file names, then any slackware files may work.
