Re: Shaking down android 2.2(Arm11/256 mB, 1 ghz) ? SYNET7LP, SYTAB7WX

Some Intel i7 android tablet showed up on ebay, has funky video and shuts down when overheated. Bought one(Impression tablet i7) for 99 cents digitizer  cracked. It powers on, but lcd has lines contact resisrance problems.

Intel cpu uses buried transistor manufacturing method, and suffers chip thermal expansion problem which has to power down to prevent shorts. Will Intel survive this technology defect in all their products.

RUMOR HAS IT THAT IT RUNS 10 MINUTES SHUTS DOWN THEN NEEDS COOLING 30 MINUTES LATER TO RUN AGAIN.

Other cpu manufacturers not arm design also have overheating problems but different. When current turns corner, it can heat up to 1000f, heat sink can only cool down from over 85c to keep cmos transistors working.

Only invest in Androids with ARM cpu?

Bought another i7, take care to do room temperature burn-in, is working and doing internet browsing.

To get Android tablets back if password locked, you can use recovery by pressing menu and power(same time) when start until you get the text to do factory reset by moving volume buttons to select options.

Many new tablets do not have menu button anymore, and you have to try it with volume and power buttons pressed at the sametime to get safemode. Search google and try different methods?

After looking at so many eBay repair units, one has to conclude poblems are overheating.

One way to not overheat is to try room temperature burn in.  Run unit only for short session before overheating.

Works.

Using android tablets for short sessions help keeping it working properly. in the meantime google is updating simpler versions to speed up finishing internet download quicker.

Got i7 Impression tablet working with mouse in short sessions(a few minutes) of operating each time to do room temperature burn-in including factory reset.

Android 2.2 had a lot of graphics which wasted time. Charging battery all night. Intel i7 cpu maybe have to learn to use it.

Right now stuck in touch calibration using mouse, after factory reset.

Safe mode is entered by pushing volume+ and power on. Safe mode does not do recovery then factory reset. But still stuck on touch calibration using mouse.

Re: Shaking down android 2.2(Arm11/256 mB, 1 ghz) ? SYNET7LP, SYTAB7WX

Finally got a sawee pad(10 " tablet) with android 2.1 kernel 2.6 Linux. It has a different browser.(Dolphin ebrowser) It works, and put into it gmail to try get google updates?

It came with problems of cpu frequent freezing and need hard reset to reboot. It also needed a full charge of its battery.

ALL Android 2.x has no way to avoid security certificates of data centers substituted when delivering webpages. Its annoying.

It came from Shanghai, china and has some chinese language programs.

Found one  not power on that I bought earlier.

Re: Shaking down android 2.2(Arm11/256 mB, 1 ghz) ? SYNET7LP, SYTAB7WX

Some android tablets having problems with power socket worn out, may have to charge battery by the usb connection. Some usb works fine and dandy for charging, some not connected to battery but if connect to usb hub may turn your android (Coby) on and exhaust your battery.

Many no power on problems are battery not even charged.  Takes many hours to charge an exhausted battery. Lithium batteries are best charged frequently and discharged frequently but kept charged.

Not letting power socket, or plug worn out on the wall adapter is important care.

Android tablets setup for phone 3/4g dialer has password.

You must do factory reset to get back wifi booting. This make many ebay tablets not usable after you buy it(password lock up).

If you are lucky some older tablets can use menu & power switch to get recovery mode then factory reset.

More Android tablets had neglected battery causing problems. Luckily some can be saved by charging for several days.

Others did not show signs of life by LED light up, or no power up at all.

App stores are the tablets' future? shake down  did. Google play for v4.1.1 and  Amazon app for v 4.0.3

,
Slideme is risky if apps do not work for your tablet. Getjar has same number of  apps. Go back to v2.1.

Angry birds apps is a good test of app store. Freecell(crown icon) may work for you from slideme sam 6.0.6. APK installer can clean up non working apps by uninstall. Freecell(king icon) is more fun to play.

Have fun?

Irulu  kurio ematic V4.2.2 has  weird wifi  chip problem. Need(wps) pin or password to be set on your router.

It can be switched by airplane mode.

Gradually working longer time.

But not worth the troubles in setup crashes and booting not having wifi router password(given by factory in software) connection on your cableTV router.

Avoid v4.2.2 since without wifi connection no update to fix by google. I am still using Azpen v 4.2.2, but not tempted to do factory reset for fear of setup faults for children when rebooting. Azpen was not setup for children with parental control.

You need menu from your tablet to do pin or password on your wifi router to use android 4.2.2. Its not worth the trouble if you have many tablets not 4.2.2. your router then can use any tablets at will.

Re: Shaking down android 2.2(Arm11/256 mB, 1 ghz) ? SYNET7LP, SYTAB7WX

No power often is a broken wire from the battery. Android uses very fine wires that might break at the solder joint due to long wires vibrating, Tape the wires down will last longer after you fix the solder.

Some time, charging did not show correctly but long charge will fix the weak battery.

Take care of battery means frequent recharging after using battery operation.

Suspect battery charge not deep enough to cause chips to run hot. Try to charge fully each day.

Re: Shaking down android 2.2(Arm11/256 mB, 1 ghz) ? SYNET7LP, SYTAB7WX

Older tablets such as Nextbook 6, got freecell installed on 32mB flash,  angry birds nèed  100+  mB.

Often older flash card of less than 256 mB size can be enough(do not throw  them away).

App cache(fragmented DDR address) must  be deleted after use, and/or store on each nand. SD card. Avoid too many google update of the  location etc. for a cross reference.

Battery charging by usb hub power supply may need two wires including the DC input? Each wire may only support 500 ma when tablets needed 2A at 5v. So charging is slower too but its done sevaral tablets charged at the same time, some only one wire does it.

If you own many tablets, keep them charged to keep batteries ready to go. Buy a few usb hubs.

Amazon appstore  has to support their own old tablets, so apps versions are easier to use  in your old androids.

Its in bookmark,to download the seached apps.

You should know that Facebook is the appstore for PC.

But any tablet can also use it to try out games before download the app for your own tablet.

The appstore is replacing desktop(offline apps) for the cloud, yet private enjoyment of games is coming back.

Facebook had to add webGL on webpage to run games from android.

Now Firefox30 is offering appstore for browser.

This will make PCs same as phones with appstores

Android appstores can be searched for your favorite apps but there is a problem.

The problem may be that searched wording is only recognized for the first word never more than one key word.

So pinball, slots, freecell gets your apps but angry birds(etc.) got nothing listed.

You wonder why appstore search engine is such for over 100k item search.

When I started on this project broken digitizers forced me to use mouse.

Now I need both depending on the task on hand. Touch screen can be touchy. Activate functions you do not want. Mouse has more control and more precise but too muxh movement.

So choose when the job calls for text input._

Using apps on older Androids run into many problems after a few days. often some apps will force close then you have to uninstall them. Its blamed on shared codes in Linux library. And also android cache(ddr) not cleared after shut down.

This will get Google update busy.

Finally, was  able to get a iPad2 16gB(upgraded to iOS7.1.1) to compare with Androids.

It was a shattered broken one selling for $33 on ebay. A $10 coupon helped to acquire it. What a surprise that it not only works but also updated to 7.1.1. Apple touch screens is easy to work with, works even if broken in places.

iPad is based on email accounts for appstore, internet is Safari browser and iCloud is  cloud computing apps. Quite different from Android wifi browser approach.

Well, Android has to autoupdate system someday? iOs8 will be the next iPad2 operating system.

Re: Shaking down android 2.2(Arm11/256 mB, 1 ghz) ? SYNET7LP, SYTAB7WX

Androids can be locked by password, only recovery mode can remove all user data to unlock.

Recovery mode(power and volume+ keys used during boot) is not as easy to use, I still have two tablets not recovered. After android lie down symbol use volume- to get recovery process? 3 tablets were recovered from password lock, so far. But not all work on the same principle, because some had extra menu/home button(s). Others have different android versions.

Have fun when you succeed to do recovery mode.

Re: Shaking down android 2.2(Arm11/256 mB, 1 ghz) ? SYNET7LP, SYTAB7WX

Using iPad2 is a real pleasure because its fast compared to any Android tablet. Its mostly in software, no delays in execution of touch commands.

For some reason unknown, android touch has script not responding, certificates not approved, and wifi disabled.

Some tablets has granted faster cpu, but unresponding to touch commands are no excuse for google updates to keep androids usable.

So, Android is dead. Long live the new Android wifi.
