Litium battery maintanance ? Fully charged and put into refrigerator ?

In a ziplocked bag. Lithium batteries do leak, and should be cleaned with cotton cue tip and rubbing alcohol to rub off any leakage.

Electronics are use to keep lithium batteries from damage. Generally 3.7 volts should be maintained which is 40% charge, stored in cool place 15 degrees C or 58 degrees F.

Battery should be use every 2-3 weeks? In ziplock bags maybe stored longer in refrigerator. Some people claimed that freezer can help to restore bad lithium battery to be reused. This is perhaps luck, that lithium compounds revived or the electronics circuit recovered and condensation is reduced.

Some lithium batteries got revived by leaving the circuits to discharge on the gate of any cmos transistors that got zapped. Then after many months, you can charge the battery again.Any abrupt disconnection of fully charged battery can cause arcing to zap the cmos transistors on the battery circuit. Never fuss with battery covers to avoid electronic circuit damages.

Battery charging and discharging technology is based on Quantum mechanics theory, and Compton's law applies. In lead acid batteries, the alternator uses multi phase and accelerated charging. A depleted battery can be charged when engine is idling for 15 minutes. Muti phase gives more pulses of gamma ray particles and can offer deeper charge than DC or higher frequency surface conduction charge. Engine idling speed gives the very close to optimum charging environment.

In Lithium ion batteries, all charging is controlled by the electronic circuit. When electronics failed, battery charging is stopped by choice(shut down). Earlier Li-on batteries do not have the latest technology and fail sooner. Today, discharge the battery while you are charging is a way to charge deeper into all the chemicals. Tricle charged batteries need discharge in use to get deeper charge in the next tricle charge cycle. So the future of Li-on batteries still depend on multiphased pulse charging, three phase kiloherz may have to be fine tuned for the shape of the battery.

Charge accelerator is based on supply voltage; 12v lead acid battery with a float voltage of 13.5 volts are charged with 75 volt alternator. Even 40 volt supply to charge 24 volt lead acid battery will shorten the time needed to get fully charged. So, 12 volts is used to charge NiMh AA battery in 15 minutes too. Then you can tricle charge to keep NiMh batteries fully charged until use. Li-on battery has to be recharged before use, never let it go down below 3.7 volts.

When you use Compton's law in battery charging, you understand accelerated gamma ray particles will bounce around in the battery and charge faster because of penatration in the battery chemical. Tricle charge can only prevent internal discharge. Can you calculate to design the electronic charger using Compton's law? Only if you vary the parameters of the law and get best solid results of energy stored.

Such is life, and god willing, science and engineering needs fine tuned to get best results. Even different shape(wavelength and amplitude) of the battery, may need different charger design based on Compton's law(particle theory and newtonian laws) plus chemistry laws and mass deficiency from random electron orbit collision(internal discharge theory)..

Finally real success in prolonging battery life. It is by putting load on the depleted lithium battery before recharging.

Before recharging, leave the battery in the device, and start turning it on several times.

Then take it to the charger and recharge, when the lithium battery internal resistance is low.

When the battery is not completely discharged, the internal resistance may still be high, making the battery impossible to recharge.
