What is Austrumi ?

Austrumi is a tiny livecd Linux distro.

It has its own Linux philosophy of multi-language livecd distro. It is a desktop but has features to use as an embedded distro server. It is organizes by version number for slightly different desktop or server. You will appreciate its way of organization using version numbers to stay small, but changing version numbers will save you from doing much configuration.

Once you see the latest version going back to Fvwm of foobar and Win95 familiarity, you will like Austrumi.

So, lets start some comparisons with other distros.

Its distro philosophy first, then organization of kernels and apps, then its is what you can do with Linux and specifically Austrumi against other distros.

To work with details of Austrumi, we use other parts of this website by the indexed categories.

Re: What is Austrumi ?

Is Austrumi v2.3.3 changing?

Livecd prevents corruption of data from writebacks of i586 or later cpus. But lacking resume of data on next boot left most of us dis-satisfied. HDD will get corruption from lack of local defrag module to avoid overflowing fat table by too many writebacks thus losing data until scandisk(quick fix using windowsME or earlier OS) can recover lost data(not found in fat).

USB drives can be used to advantage if history is displayed when you resume your work on next boot by saving the data from drams before shut down.
